Sending Love with Dry Ice
When shipping thing with dry ice, it is important to choose the right package to ship your cookie dough or fudge in. Use a towel or Styrofoam between the container and the ice in order to keep them save from freezing beyond repair. Pack your goodies in a Styrofoam cooler with dry ice blocks covering both the top and bottom of the container. Put the cooler into a corrugated box for shipping. It is recommended to use 15 to 20 pounds of dry ice to freeze items for up to 48 hours or 10 pounds per 24 hours of travel. Don’t wrap the cooler in tape or plastic for an airtight seal. This could make your goods explore on transport and make the package very dangerous when handling.
