A really cool way to elevate the look of any drink is by using dry ice. When combined with water, dry ice creates a very cool fog effect that makes any punch mocktail look like it’s right out of a fancy bar or movie set. Unfortunately, adding dry ice directly to a drink is unsafe for human consumption. But it’s actually easy to get that cool effect with a simple optical illusion! Here’s how to achieve the coolest looking punch you’ve ever seen, just by adding a little dry ice to some water. Just remember to never add dry ice directly to any drink.
First, Get Some Ice!

How to Make a Dry Ice Punchbowl

That way, the illusion of smokey ice will still be there, but you won’t have to worry about the ice evaporating into the punch itself, which is not safe for human consumption.
However, there are still a few more things you should know. First, never drink a beverage or liquid that has come into direct contact with dry ice. As cool as those mocktail glasses look, they are not safe to drink. You do not want to inhale the fumes or consume the ice. But, when handled properly, they are perfect for those social media-ready pics! If you are not going to drink your punch but want to show off the fun, smoky look, place a single pellet inside of a drinking glass in a well-ventilated area, and snap those pictures. After the fumes have subsided, make sure to dispose of the ice mocktail appropriately, and most importantly, do not drink it.
