Be a Tailgating Pro with Dry Ice
Football season is in full swing and you know what that means. It’s time to get all of your tailgating gear ready for some serious action this autumn. Have you noticed that tailgating has gotten more and more complex every year? It seems like there’s just so much you can do with a crazy setup, complete with TVs and electricity!
We here at Dry Ice Corp love football and the tailgating that goes along with it. In fact, we can share a neat pro tip for your next tailgate that will get people talking. Forget those fancy setups! All you need is some dry ice!
Reduce the Cooler Mess
One of the biggest challenges when tailgating is keeping the food and the beer cold. You’re more than likely not going to be within range of a market to resupply your cooler with ice at the lot. And the mess involved, with all the water that you end up with, can sometimes be a hassle to clean up at home. You could go with one of those fancy setups with built-in refrigerators, but not all of us have that kind of money laying around at home. Or, you can be the envy of the lot and bring dry ice into the equation (and teach the fans a thing or two about science at the same time).
This life hack is actually quite simple: place dry ice at the bottom of your cooler (using all necessary safety precautions), then put a bag of regular ice on top. Then fill your cooler with all the items for your tailgate. The dry ice will keep the regular ice, and the rest of your items, cold throughout the day. Make sure to leave an opening for the dry ice sublimation if the cooler seals airtight! If your layer of dry ice is large enough, your regular ice should still be solid by the time you get home!
