That Yard is Haunted for Halloween
Halloween is all about being scared. It is a time for frolic and fun with a scary twist to it. So why not play up the scare factor in your front yard? Off in the distance of your neighborhood, you can hear little children screaming and laughing at a particularly spooky house. Why not make your haunted house better? Here are some tips and tricks for your front yard on Halloween using dry ice!
Starting Small with Pumpkins
No matter how you choose to decorate your front yard, the most essential decoration is a pumpkin. But there are so many ways you can transform this orange fruit into something amazing or terrifying. If you want to make your home festive but not spooky, pick a theme for your yard and decorate accordingly. For example, if you choose The Wizard of Oz, you can have pumpkins representing the Tin Man, Dorothy, Cowardly Lion, and Scarecrow. To give the Tin Man life, paint your pumpkin with silver spray point and rest him on a silver strainer for the neck. Cut a hole in the top of the head and save the stem. Cut a small hole in the lid about the side of a quarter. After cleaning your pumpkin, add a bowl of hot water and dry ice before replacing the lid and adding a metal funnel over the stem and hole to allow the steam to run out of the funnel. For a spookier pumpkin, carve and clean as usual. Before placing it in your hard on Halloween, arrange glow sticks around the mouth and eyes. Then add a bowl of hot water and slowly drop in dry ice for the smoke effect. Make sure the lid is on tight to get the full effect of the water and ice fog.
Go Big or Go Home!
To make your yard look extra creepy, make your own fog machine. Take a five gallon bucket, large chunk of dry ice, and a small fan. Fill the bucket with hot water and slowly place the dry ice into the water, making sure to wear thick protective gloves and tongs to handle the ice. Let the fan blow the smoke over your yard, replacing the ice and hot water as needed. For the best results for a big yard, try placing several buckets around the hard with hot water and dry ice. This will increase the amount of fog in the yard, giving you full coverage. To give your yard a glow, use glow sticks with paper towel rolls to create eyes in your bushes.
Dry ice can add a new layer of scariness to your yard. For the best screams, add music and someone in a costume for some extra screams. For more information on your Halloween dry ice supplier, call Dry Ice Corp!
