Purchase the Right Amount
Since dry ice turns into gas as it melts, it’s important to purchase your dry ice as close to the party start time as possible. You should also keep in mind that it will disappear as it melts, so buying more than you need is better than purchasing too little and losing it before the first guest arrives. As a rule of thumb, keep in mind that five pounds of dry ice will sublimate in 24 hours.
