Fill a vessel with room temperature water, and then add a few pieces of dry ice for an effect that your kids will love. Water is a much better conductor of heat than air, which leads to a faster and more dramatic sublimation. The gas will bubble on the surface, leading to a cool visual effect.
Put Dry Ice In A Toy Tea Kettle
For this experiment, you will need to take a toy tea kettle and add a little water as well as a tiny piece of dry ice. As the dry ice sublimates into gas, steam will dramatically shoot out of the spout. Be sure to take safety measures always when handling dry ice. Do not touch it directly or put it in hot water.
